Operation Beijing Breeze

Check out Operation Beijing Breeze. This science, biology and physical education project pack is part of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s new Canadian Olympic School program.

Operation Beijing Breeze gives students the tools to act as a group of scientific experts comprised of a climatology expert, cardiovascular expert, respiratory expert, health expert and an adaptation expert. This team is asked to prepare a presentation to brief athletes and their coaches to overcome Beijing’s difficult weather conditions through a formal presentation. Learning outcomes are outlined in the project pack based on various subject matters, grade levels and provinces.

Other cross-curricular Olympic project packs include Destination Beijing and Standing Clean. Each pack contains background articles, student work sheets, teaching tips, an evaluation rubric and a list of links to provincial learning outcomes.
