I am a teacher and want to include a 2010 Winter Games component to my classes. Tell me more about VANOC’s national education program.
VANOC’s national education program,
vancouver2010.com/edu,
consists of an online, interactive, bilingual monthly e-magazine.
The e-magazine serves as a portal where teachers, students and
interested members of the public can learn more about Vancouver
2010, the Olympic and Paralympic Movements and the three pillars of
the Olympic Games (Sport, Culture and Sustainability).
This e-magazine will feature:
-
Stories on Olympic and Paralympic themes
-
2010-related teaching resources developed by educators and organizations such as the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC)
-
Interactive components for students, including online interviews with Olympic and Paralympic athletes, Canadian artists and leaders in the field of sustainability
-
Opportunities for schools to showcase their own 2010 Winter Games projects
-
Opportunities for teachers to share information and best practices about 2010 Winter Games-related initiatives they’ve undertaken
-
Information on other ways that schools, teachers and students can connect to the 2010 Winter Games and Vancouver 2010
