Cultural Olympiad Artist Registry

At VANOC we are committed to showcasing and sharing extraordinary talent with our community. In keeping with this commitment, we have created an Artist Registry that will give us the opportunity to stay informed and in touch with diverse artists from across Canada and abroad.

By submitting your information to our Artist Registry, you will be included in a centralized database that members and affiliates of VANOC can reference when programming events. We may eventually share this legacy with our partners, supporters, affiliates, sponsors, and all those involved in the Olympic Movement*.

If our Artist Registry sounds like something you are interested in – and we hope you are – then please take a moment to read the following guidelines.

*The Olympic Movement encompasses organisations, athletes, and other persons who agree to be guided by the Olympic Charter.

Step 1: Guidelines for Submitting Information to the Artist Registry
Who should submit their information?

  • Individual artists (performing artists, visual artists, new media, etc.), whether professional, semi-professional or amateur.
  • Ensembles or collectives whether or not you function through a non-profit entity (if you do function through a non-profit entity and wish to submit a co-presenting application, please click here to see the Cultural Olympiad Call For Proposals).
  • Aboriginal arts and cultural organizations
  • Agents and managers
What happens once I’ve submitted my information?

Once submitted, your information will be reviewed to ensure eligibility. If you qualify, you will be entered into our Artist Registry and your information may be made available to our partners, affiliates, sponsors, supporters, suppliers and others looking to source talent for an event.

What happens to the information I submit?

All submitted information becomes the property of VANOC and will not be returned to you at any time.

What is the best way to submit information to the Artist Registry?

Only information submitted online will be accepted. We regret that we cannot receive your information by mail, fax, courier or any other means other than online.  If we require any more details, including samples of your work, we will contact you.

Can I submit my information in French?

A Proponent may submit their information in either English or French. If a Proponent submits their information in French, VANOC reserves the right to translate such French version into English, whereupon such English translation will govern and VANOC shall be entitled to rely on such English translation. Upon a written request from such Proponent, VANOC will deliver a copy of any such French translation to such Proponent. Any contract ultimately entered into between the successful Proponent and VANOC will be in English.

What if I am contacted to showcase at an event?

If asked to participate in an event, you may be required to enter into a contract. Additional contract requirements and contract terms will be determined after evaluation and selection of artists.

How long will it take to hear from you? Can I find out about my status?

If your information is logged into our database, you may be contacted any time between now and Games-Time, depending on our needs. Due to the extremely high volume of submissions we receive, we ask that you please refrain from contacting us regarding your status. We thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the Artist Registry.
